Mental health care for people whose job is to perform under pressure.

A career spent inside high-pressure systems.

Performance-Informed Counseling, Consultation, & Suicide Prevention

I work with individuals and organizations who operate in high-pressure, zero-error environments: healthcare professionals, first responders, high-performing leaders, and collegiate and elite athletes.

Whether you are navigating acute stress, high-stakes competition, clinical burnout, or team crisis response, my approach is designed around a simple reality: high performers don't need to be treated as fragile—they need strategic, action-oriented support that respects their drive, culture, and edge.

Understanding High-Stakes Environments from the Inside Out

Long before I earned my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, my foundation was built on the field. I spent four years competing as a Division I collegiate field hockey athlete and later coached at the Division I level before transitioning into clinical mental health.

I know firsthand what it means to carry performance pressure, push through physical and mental limits, and tie your identity to high-stakes outcomes.

Later in my career as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, I turned that focus toward another relentless, high-pressure domain: healthcare and medical education. Having directed university counseling services and led specialized mental health and well-being programs for medical house staff, residents, and fellows, I understand the systemic realities of moral injury, grueling shifts, and the intense isolation that comes with caring for others in critical settings.

How I Work: My Clinical & Consulting Philosophy

  • Direct, Collaborative, and Action-Oriented: I don't sit back with passive head-nodding. We look directly at the obstacles—whether it’s burnout, performance anxiety, or identity shifts—and build practical strategies for endurance and recovery.

  • Strict Confidentiality & Discretion: High-performing professionals and athletes often face unique privacy concerns. I provide a highly confidential, grounded environment tailored around unpredictable shifts and demanding training schedules.

  • Systemic & Crisis-Informed Focus: Individual distress rarely exists in a vacuum. Beyond individual counseling, I specialize in institutional consultation, suicide prevention (QPR training), opt-out well-being initiatives, and postvention crisis response for organizations.
